National Productivity Award goes to 17 organisations
Dhaka: The Industries Ministry on Sunday awarded 17 organisations for their significant contributions to the industrial sector through maintaining productivity and quality of products.
The award, titled ‘National Productivity and Quality Excellence Award 2013’ was given in six categories—large industry, medium industry, small industry, micro industry, cottage industry and state-owned enterprises.
Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu handed over the awards to the representatives of the recipients at a function held in a city hotel. National Productivity Organisation (NPO) arranged the function with Industries Secretary M Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan in the chair.
The awardees include British American Tobacco Bangladesh Company Limited, Khulna Shipyard Limited, BRB Cables Industries Limited, Energypack Electronics Limited, Tamai Knit Fashion Limited, CIBL Technology Consultant Limited, M/S Rony Agro Engineering, Prince Chemical Company Limited National Tubes Limited and Jamuna Fertilizers Company Limited.
Speaking at the function, the Industries Minister said industrialists are the architects of building an industry and knowledge-based enriched economy.
‘Let’s work together in a coordinated manner to boost productivity in industrial units,’ Amu said adding that all need to join this journey.
The Industries Minister assured all that the government will always remain beside the entrepreneurs in their journey towards boosting productivity and quality of products.
Amu said the country’s economy is now on a solid and sustainable base due to proper policies taken by the government.
