The journey towards the dream along with beauty has ended. Sanjida Akter earned the crown of this year’s ‘Mumtaz Sundoritoma’. The beauty pageant contest ‘Mumtaz Sundoritoma’, with the slogan ‘Soundorjer Sathe Swapner Pothe’ (towards the dream with beauty), began on 16 May. NTV, one of the leading television channels in Bangladesh, jointly organised the event with Mumtaz Herbal. The contest was regulated by NTV Online (ntvbd.com).

The jury panel comprised noted artist Samarjit Roy, beauty expert Afroza Parveen and popular actress Urmila Srabonti Kar.

The grand finale of the competition was telecast on 1 September.

Afrana Islam Prity became the first runner-up and Nusrat Jahan Mithila won the third place.

Sanjida received taka one lakh while Prity and Mithila received take 50 thousand and taka 25 thousand respectively. NTV Director Alhaj Nuruddin Ahmed, Mumtaz Herbal Managing Director Madad Ali Virani and its General Manager Abdus Sattar handed over prizes to the winners.  

Judges at the finale were noted artist Samarjit Roy Chowdhury, fashion designer Shaibal Saha, director Ali Fida Akram Tozo, beauty expert Afroza Parveen and popular actress Urmila Srabonti Kar. The event was anchored by Fuad and Chaity.

Top ten participants of the contest walked on the ramp and performed act pieces during the finale. They answered questions from the judges. The finale also featured performances by singer Imran, actress Nipun and Nijhum Rubina.

Bangladeshi women aged between 18 to 30 years old were eligible to participate in the competition. Among them, 10 beautiful women were chosen.

From thousands of contestants, the judges chose 40 women. Photos of those women were uploaded on NTV Online where readers of the portal cast their votes for the participant they like. The voting continued from 3 July to 23 July. 

Then, ten women were chosen through the readers vote and the decision of the jury panel. The select were invited to Dhaka to participate in the final stage of the competition.

Next, the select 10 beautiful women went through grooming by popular beauty experts of the country.

In the final step, three best contestants were selected by the jury panel. The entire finals was telecast on NTV. Besides NTV Online, the show was telecast on other social media as well.

The top three winners will get chance to work in telefilms and TVCs sponsored by Mumtaz Herbal. And, the other seven participants received certificates and gift hampers.
