Mechanised farming begins in Mymensingh

Mymensingh: Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) has started mechanised farming in the district for boosting production as well as ensuring food security in the current Boro season.
DAE recently arranged a field day to disseminating the technology of the modern farming at Sonapur in Muktagachha.
With Muktagachha upazila agriculture officer Nargis Akhter in the chair, the function was addressed among others by DAE district training officer Bebuty Bushan Chakraborty, deputy director Habibur Rahman and Rezaul Amin.
Earlier, mechanised farming of Boro with transplantation machine displayed in some lands of the village through which farmers could be able to get practical knowledge of the farming.
Agriculture experts pointed out that mechanised farming is more needed and its best use can attain more yield from crops with low cost and short time.
Mechanised farming is essential not only for boosting the production but also to take pioneer role to ensure food security, said the experts.
