Mosaddak, Samsuzzaman to be quizzed in arson cases

BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s advisers Mohammad Mosaddak Ali and Samsuzzaman Dudu have been remanded in police custody for interrogation in separate arson cases.
Mosaddak Ali was put on a five-day remand in a case filed over setting fire to a bus at capital’s Khilgaon on January 30 while Samsuzzaman was sent to a four-day remand for setting fire to another vehicle at Mirpur.
Metropolitan Magistrates Mohammad Hasibul Haque and Mahbubur Rahman passed the order on Monday upon separate police petitions seeking ten days and seven days remand for Mosaddak Ali and Samsuzzaman respectively.
Mosaddak Ali, also the chairman and managing director of private television channel NTV, was picked up by Detective Branch when he was coming out of Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office after meeting her on 1 February.
Samsuzzaman was held in capital’s Mirpur on 11 January, was earlier remand in police custody for seven days.
