Gazipur: A Gazipur court on Thursday placed Gazipur city mayor and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson Khaleda Zia’s adviser MA Mannan on a two-day interrogation in an arson case filed with Joydevpur Police Station.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Monwara Begum passed the order when police produced MA Mannan before the court at noon seeking a 10-day interrogation.

Earlier, on Wednesday afternoon, detectives picked up MA Mannan from his DOHS residence in Baridhara of the capital.

Three cases were filed against mayor Mannan with Joydevpur Police Station on different charges. Earlier, he secured bail in two cases.
