Chittagong: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) recovered a huge cache of firearms, explosive materials and hand bombs from a building at Halishahar in the Chittagong port city in an overnight drive on Friday.

The elite force also detained three people in this connection.

On secret information, RAB-7 members conducted a drive in different areas of Halishahar overnight and held the trio from a building of the area. 

They seized 150kg high power explosive materials, 76 powerful hand bombs, 24 firearms, huge bomb making ingredients and militant training materials.

The force will give details of the drive at a press briefing at noon, said RAB official.
