137 Rohingyas deported to Myanmar
The 137 Rohingyas held by Border Guard Bangladesh have been sent back to Myanmar.
Earlier the border security forces held them at Ukhiya in Cox’s Bazar on Firday for allegedly trespassing into Bangladesh.
However, early reports claimed that a total of 108 Rohingyas were held.
Cox’s Bazar BGB sector commander Colonel Khalekuzzaman confirmed the deportation of 137 Rohingyas.
According to Colonel Khalekuzzaman, BGB members held 108 Rohingyas on Friday morning while they were trying to push in Bangladeshi territory through Balukhali frontier.
At that time, the colonel also informed, a group of local people, who had accommodated the Rohingyas, opened fire at the BGB members leaving Subedar Fazlul Haq wounded. Bullet-hit Fazlul Haq was admitted to Ukhiya Hospital.
A person named Shah Alamgir was held for his involvement in the attack.
