Dhaka: Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed on Saturday said no dialogue is possible with saboteurs who are continuing violence in the name of movement.

He came up with the remark while talking to journalists after placing wreath at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi in the capital marking the historic 7th March in the morning.

Tofail, also an advisory council member of the ruling Awami League, said “No country in the globe would accept talks with those who are involved in militancy. Consequently, we can’t also hold a dialogue with the militants.”

Earlier Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid tribute to Bangabandhu by placing wreaths at the portrait of the great leader.

Sheikh Hasina first placed a wreath as the Prime Minister at the portrait of Bangabandhu at about 7:30am in the morning.

She stood there for some time in solemn silence as a mark of respect to the memory of the architect of independent Bangladesh.

Cabinet members, including Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed and Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, Awami League Advisory Council member Suranjit Sen Gupta and Parliament Members were present.
