Khaleda Zia must face justice: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that ‘Khaleda Zia is the leader of militants. That leader of militants will not be allowed in Bangladesh. She must face justice. This is our promise on 7 March.’
Sheikh Hasina made the statement on Saturday while addressing a rally organised by the ruling Awami League at the Suhrawardi Udyan in the capital marking the historic 7 March.
The prime minister said, ‘There is a section of educated people who fail to identify the crimes of BNP. Those educated people, including some university teachers, don’t see who hurl bombs on people, whose hands are blown away while making bombs.’
‘BNP leader Khaleda zia did not participate in the election. It is BNP’s mistake. Why the people of the country should pay for that? ...hundreds of the Qurans were burnt, law enforcers were killed, but she could not stop the election,’ said the prime minister.
Hasina said, ‘20-party destroyed 582 schools, killed 26 people on the day of elections. They attacked and killed presiding officer ...Even after that, people wanted election. We formed government after people casted votes. The people of Bangladesh remained happy for one year. As people were happy, the mind of militants’ leader was burning.’
Hasina said, ‘She (Khaleda) has been staying in her office leaving her residence. I don’t know what type of revolution she is doing seating in her office.’
Hasina also said, ‘this public rally is taking place in a time when the defeated power, who does not believe in liberation, is attacking the people of Bangladesh. So this rally is really important. They are carrying out attacks on common people of the country hurling cocktails, blasting crude bombs. You know who they are.’
