Gazipur: At least three people were killed and five others injured when a bus collided with a truck on Dhaka-Tangail Highway in Gazipur on Wednesday morning.

The Salna highway police said a Gazipur-bound Azmeri Paribahan bus collided head-on with a truck at Bymile area about 6:00am, leaving a woman dead on the spot and seven others injured.

The injured were admitted to Gazipur Sadar Hospital, which is also known as Shahid Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital.
The hospital’s resident medical officer said two critically injured passengers, in their forties, died at the hospital.

Two among others left the hospital after receiving primary treatment.

The victims could not be identified immediately.
