Agents barred from entering polling centres: Afroza
Dhaka: Afroza Abbas, wife of BNP-backed Dhaka South City Corporation’s mayoral candidate Mirza Abbas, alleged on Tuesday morning that ruling party cadres with the help of law enforcers are preventing their agents from entering many polling stations.
Talking to reporters at Fakirapool Bazar, Afroza alleged that ruling party men even attacked their agents at Komor Goli Primary School polling station and did not allow them to enter it.
She said the ruling party men also prevented their agents from entering many centres in Dhanmondi and Kalabaghan Bus Stand, Dhaka Medical College, Viqarunnisa Noon School and College and Mukta Academy areas.
Afroza asked the voters to spontaneously come to voting centres to cast their votes and put up a strong resistance against the troublemakers.
Later, she entered the Komor Goli Primary polling centre and lodged her complaints with the law enforcers concerned.
She also alleged law enforcers arrested their polling agents at Lutfa Academy polling centre.
