Saki alleges polling agents barred from stations
Dhaka: Dhaka North City Corporation mayoral candidate Zonayed Saki on Tuesday complained that his polling agents were barred from entering two polling stations in Mirpur. Talking to reporters after casting his vote at a polling station in Moghbazar, Saki alleged that an ambiance of violence prevailed as in Mirpur miscreants destroyed election papers of the councillors.
Saki also complained that his supporters were attacked in city’s Uttara, Kalachadpur and Badda area. Crisis in the country’s politics will become more critical if the election is not fair and peaceful, he added.
When asked if he will accept the election result, Saki said, it would be great if the practice of accepting any result (in election) could be initiated in Bangladesh. But if there is indiscretion in election, glitches in vote counting, the result will not be accepted.
