38kg gold found in plane’s toilet
Chittagong: Custom officials at Shah Amanat International Airport have recovered 325 gold bars weighing around 38kilograms from an aircraft in Chittagong on Tuesday morning.
Custom official Mohammad Selim said the gold bars were found around 6:00am after a Bangladesh Airlines plane came from Dubai.
Selim said they seized three packets of gold bars from the aircraft’s toilet while conducting a raid.
The gold bars seized were worth approximately Tk 25lakh, he said.
The custom authorities could not identify the owner of the gold yet. None was arrested in this connection.
