Tremor jolts country including Dhaka

Dhaka: A strong 7.4 earthquake jolted in the country, including capital Dhaka on Tuesday afternoon.
The earthquake, prompting the panic-stricken people to come out of their homes and workplaces, felt at about 1:05am and lasted for over 40 seconds.
Bangladesh Meteorological officer Mobinul Islam said the epicentre of the earthquake was in Nepal, where its magnitude was 7.1 on the Richter scale, which is 611kilometres far from Dhaka.
US Geological Survey says the first earthquake at 7.4 and its epicentre was 83 kilometres southeast of Zham, China – inside Nepal.
It was followed by an aftershock with a magnitude of 5.4 on the Richter scale at about 1.40pm. There was no immediate report of casualties or damage in the quake.
The earthquake also shook the Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, West Bengal and even shook building as far south as Mumbai.
Earlier, on 27 April, a 4.2 mild earthquake was felt again in several places of the country including Dhaka at 6:37pm which was epicentred in 23kilometre South-West of Hitura in Nepal.
Moreover, another earthquake felt four minutes before this quake; another 5.1 magnitude quake was felt.
On 25 April, another major earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 hit the Himalayan nation Nepal, leaving 8,019 people killed.
The 25 April tremor also shook Bangladesh and India.
