Minister says human trafficking not his concern
When concerns are expressed from all quarters over the increasing number of reports on human trafficking from Bangladesh in recent times, Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Khandakar Mosharraf Hossian has denied responsibility over this matter saying that are not the concern of his ministry.
‘Our ministry isn’t responsible. Home ministry will make arrangement to bring them (trafficked people) home’ said Khandakar Mosharraf Hossian on Thursday while talking to journalists after meeting a Saudi Arabian diplomat in Dhaka.
Pressed about taking measures about the migrant workers who are braving the sea to cross the border illegally, the minister said, ‘We shouldn’t get involved in this. Ministry of home and foreign affairs are negotiating in this regard.’
