Rangpur road accidents kill 5

Rangpur: Five people were killed and 10 others injured in two separate road accidents in Rangpur on Sunday, said police.
Three persons were killed on the spot and 10 others injured when a Syedpur-bound bus from Rangpur hit a battery-run three wheelers at about 6:20pm at Hajirhat point on the Rangpur-Dinajpur Highway.
Kotwali police officer-in-charge (OC) Abdul Kader Zilani said later police squad recovered the bodies and sent the injured persons to Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH) where one injured succumbed to his injuries.
Conditions of the other five injured were stated to be critical. Police could not confirm identities of the deceased.
In another accident at Angrar Bridge point on the Rangpur-Dhaka Highway in Pirganj killed one person and injured another who was admitted to Pirganj Upazila Health Complex in critical condition.
The deceased was 20-year-old Kamaruzzaman, son of Sekendar Ali of village Chengmari at Mithapukur.
The accident took place after a Bogra bound microbus from Rangpur hit a truck from behind leaving passenger Kamaruzzaman dead on the spot and its driver Habibur Rahman injured.
Barodarga police camp in-charge sergeant Nazmul Haque Mandal confirmed the incident.
Two separate cases have been filed in these connections with the respective police station.
