Habiganj: Five people were killed when a private car collided with a truck at Nabiganj upazila in Habiganj on Monday morning.

Habiganj fire service station manager Afsar Uddin said a Sylhet-bound private car from Dhaka collided with a stone-laden truck from opposite direction in Devpara area of Nabiganj upazila at about 6:30am and left the car driver and four members of a family dead on the spot.

Afsar Uddin said a child, who is around 3years old, injured during the accident and admitted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.

The bodies were kept at Sherpur Highway police station.

Fire fighters said the car driver is Shah Alam, a resident of Jaintapur, Sylhet.

Identities of other deceased could not be known immediately.
