Brahmanbaria: Five people were killed when a pick-up van rammed a CNG run auto-rickshaw on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Soshoi in Bijoynagar upazila on Wednesday.

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Highway police said the accident took place in the area at about 4:30 pm when the Dhaka-bound pick-up van from Sylhet hit the Madhabpur-bound CNG-run auto-rickshaw, leaving four CNG passengers dead on the spot and another injured.

The injured was rushed to a local hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Police recovered the bodies and sent those to sadar hospital morgue.
