Kushtia: Two people were killed and 15 others were injured in a head-on collision between a bus and truck at Chourahash Phultala in Sadar upazila of Kushtia on Friday.

The deceased is Islam, a bus driver, a resident from Shailakupa in Jhenidah district, and Moazzem, resident of Kamalapur of Kushita district.

The Kushtia Model police said the accident took place in the area at about 9:45am when a truck hit a Khulna-bound bus from Majampurghat in Kushita, leaving the bus driver and a passenger killed on the spot and 15 others injured.

Of the injured, four were taken to Kushita General Hospital while the rest were given first aid.

Police arrested the truck driver and helper.

Police sent the bodies to Kushtia General Hospital morgue.
