Warrant issued for arrest of 3 fugitive accused in Rajon murder

Sylhet: A court in Sylhet on Monday issued a warrant for the arrest of three fugitive accused in a case filed over the gruesome murder of teenage boy Sheikh Samiul Alam Rajon in Kumargaon area of Sylhet on 8 July.

Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate-1 Sahedul Karim passed the order during a hearing on the acceptance of the charg­–esheet against 13 people in the case, said general registrar assistant sub-inspector Foyez.

The court also asked the authorities concerned to confiscate the property of the three fugitive accused–Quamrul Islam, Shamim Alam and Pavel Islam.

The court also accepted the charges today pressed against 13 people on 16 August.

The accused are Quamrul Islam, Muhit Alam, Shamim Alam, Pavel Islam, Ali Haider alias Ali, Moyna Mia, Nur Ahmed alias Nuru Mia, Dulal Ahmed, Ayaz Ali, Taz Uddin Badal, Firoz Mia, Asmat Ali, and Ruhul Amin.

On 8 July, 13-year-old boy Sheikh Samiul Alam Rajon, son of Sheikh Azizur Rahman of Badeali village in Sadar upazila, was brutally tortured to death over a theft at Sundar Ali Market in Kumargaon area of the city.

The killers themselves took the video footage of the incident.

The video clip went viral on social networking site Facebook and video-sharing site Youtube which triggered a widespread outcry.
