Gazipur: A garment worker was stabbed to death by one of his fellows in Ershad Nagar area near Pacific Garments Factory of the capital’s Tongi on Thursday morning.

The deceased is Habibur Rahman, a resident of the area.

The Tongi police said an altercation ensued between Habibur Rahman and his fellow Nasir over a trifling matter in the morning.

At one stage, Nasir stabbed Habibur indiscriminately with a sharp weapon, leaving him critically injured.

Later, Habibur was taken to Tongi Government Hospital where attending doctors declared him dead.

Police recovered the body and sent it to Gazipur Shahid Taz Uddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
