Syed Mohsin Ali’s body arrives in Dhaka

Moulvibazar: The body of Social Welfare Minister Syed Mohsin Ali who died in a Singapore hospital on Monday was brought home on Tuesday night.
A flight of Singapore Airlines carrying the body of the late minister landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital at about 10:50pm, said public relations officer of the Social Welfare Ministry Maidul Islam.
Later, the body will be taken to his Minto Road official residence in the capital, he said from the airport.
The body will be kept at the Central Shaheed Minar from 8:00am to 9:00am on Wednesday so that people can pay their last respects to him.
The first namaz-e-janaza of Syed Mohsin Ali will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban. President Abdul Hamid is expected to join the janaza.
Later, his body will be flown to Moulvibazar by a helicopter at noon and his last namaz-e-janaza will be held at Moulvibazar Government High School ground at about 4:00pm.
Syed Mohsin Ali will be buried at Shah Mostafa Mazar at Darjirmahal by the graves of his parents after the last janaza.
Social Welfare Minister Syed Mohsin Ali, who was undergoing treatment at Singapore General Hospital, died on Monday morning at the age of 67.
Before becoming member of parliament in 2008 and in 2014, late Mohsin Ali served as elected chairman of Moulvibazar Pourasava for three consecutive terms. In 1992, the LGRD Ministry declared Syed Mohsin Ali as the best pourashava chairman.
