Rangpur: HN Ashiqur Rahman, a parliament member of Rangpur 5 constituency, received due to electrocution while speaking after Eid jamaat at Faridpur in Mithapukur upazila of Rangpur on Friday morning.

Local people said Ashiqur Rahman came in contact of a live wire of a mike he was using while speaking after the Eid jamaat at about 9:00am.

Rescued by police, he was admitted to Rangpur Combined Military Hospital (CMH).
