Naogaon: The local administration imposed section 144 at Reba Akter Alim Madrasa ground and its adjacent areas in Manda upazila for 12 hours from Monday morning as two local groups of BNP called their programmes at the same venue and time for the day.

The restriction will remain in force from 6:00am to 6:00pm on Monday.

Saifur Rahman Khan, upazila nirbahi officer of Manda, made the announcement at about 9:00pm on Sunday.

Police said a local group of BNP arranged a programme at Reba Akter Alim Madrasa ground on Monday afternoon.

On the other hand, another group of BNP also fixed a meeting at the same venue at that time.

Apprehending trouble, the local administration announced the restriction to maintain the law and order.
