Probe to make clear who blasted bomb at Bagmara mosque: Minister
Dhaka: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Saturday said it will be clear after investigation whether the Bagmara Ahmadiyya mosque bomb blast was a suicide attack or not, reports local news agency.
‘It’s not clear yet whether it’s a suicide bomb blast or not, and it’ll be known after investigation,’ he said while talking to reporters after attending the annual general meeting of Crime Reporters Association of Bangladesh (CRAB) at Dhaka Reporters Unity.
The Home Minister said, ‘Two people went to the mosque for offering prayers. One of them died during the blast while another managed to flee the scene. I think the man who was killed in the bomb blast might have been carrying the bomb. It might have exploded accidentally while offering prayers.’
‘Anyway, it will be detected who actually carried out the bomb attack,’ he said.
Earlier, a suspected young man was killed and eight others injured in a bomb blast at an Ahmadiyya mosque in Mochmoil area of Bagmara upazila on Friday.
