Minor girl ‘commits suicide’ for PEC exam failure
A girl who failed in the Primary Education Completion (PEC) examination allegedly committed suicide on Thursday at Champakdi village in Sirajdikhan upazila as she could not bear the pain of the failure.
The deceased is identified as Rahima Akter, 14.
Sirajdikhan Police Station duty officer Mamun Hossain Mollah said, quoting local people, said Rahima, had appeared at the PEC examinations from a local school of Kathaltoli, reported the United News of Bangladesh.
After getting her results on Thursday she became upset and killed herself by hanging herself from the ceiling of the house around 11:30pm, added police.
