Magura: A bank official was killed and 10 other people were injured as a bus plunged into a ditch in Magura Sadar upazila on Saturday.

The deceased is Rafiqul Islam, 28, a field officer of Mercantile bank, Jessore branch and a resident of Omedpur village in the upazila, reports UNB.

Magura police officer in-charge Ajmal Huda said the Jessore-bound bus from Magura fell into the ditch in front of Magura textile mill at about 8:00am after its driver lost control over the steering, leaving Rafiqul dead on the spot and 10 other passengers injured.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to sadar hospital morgue.

A case was filed with the Magura Police Station.
