Bangladeshi shot dead by BSF

A Bangladeshi national was reportedly shot dead by members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Adatala border point in Sapahar upazila of Naogaon early on Saturday.
The deceased is identified as Joynal Abedin, believed to be 40, son of Sohrab Hossain, a resident of South Patari village of the upazila and a cattle trader by profession, reported the United News of Bangladesh.
Witness said BSF members from Rangamati camp opened fire at a group of Bangladeshi cattle traders, including Joynal, while they were returning home from India with cattle around 5:30am, leaving Joynal dead on the spot.
Lieutenant Colonel Rafiqul Hasan, commanding officer of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Battalion-14, confirmed the incident.
BGB authorities sent a letter to BSF for holding a flag meeting for returning the Bangladeshi national’s body, Lt Col Rafiqul said.
