Mymensingh: An HSC examinee was stabbed to death allegedly by his friends at College Road intersection in Mymensingh town on Thursday.

The Kotwali Model police officer-in-charge Kamrul Islam said Muhtasim Billah Shakil, believed to be 18, an HSC examinee of Syed Nazrul College, also son of Emdadul Haq of Akua area, had an altercation with some of his friends of Royel Medial College over a trifling matter on Thursday evening.

At one stage of argument, they stabbed Shakil indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured.

Later he died on way to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

AKM Abdur Rafiq, principal of Syed Nazrul College, said Shakil might have been killed following a dispute over love affair.
