Comilla: Two suspected robbers were killed in a lynch-mob attack in Nawabpur College Road area in Chandina upazila early on Friday, reports local news agency.

The Chandina police officer-in-charge said a gang of robbers gathered in the area to commit robbery at about 3:30 am.

Sensing the presence of the robbers, local people chased them off and caught three of them while the others managed to flee.

Later, the local people beat them and left them critically injured.

Police went to the spot and sent the trio to Chandina Upazila Health Complex where two of them died after admission while another was shifted to Comilla Medical College Hospital for better treatment.

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
