Dhaka deeply concerned at Pyongyangs’ rocket launch
Dhaka: Bangladesh has expressed deep concern over the recent rocket launch by North Korea.
‘This is a clear violation of the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions,’ UNB quoted a Bangladesh Foreign Ministry statement as saying on Wednesday.
Bangladesh hoped that the DPRK (North Korea) will exercise restraint and refrain from any action that might escalate tension on the Korean Peninsula.
North Korea’s launch of a long-range rocket has drawn sharp condemnations and threats of new sanctions, reports AP.
World leaders say Sunday’s launch violated a UN ban on Pyongyang’s use of ballistic missile technology, said the report.
North Korea says the launch of a new Earth observation satellite, the Kwangmyongsong 4, or Shining Star 4, is part of a peaceful space programme.
