Drugs from India, Myanmar affecting Bangladesh: Minister
Chittagong: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Saturday said Bangladesh is facing the evil effects of drugs mane in neighbouring India and Myanmar.
The minister came up with the remarks while addressing a programme arranged to destroy seized drugs at the Rapid Action Battalion-7 (RAB-7) headquarters of Patenga in Chittagong.
‘We’re regularly communicating with India and Myanmar to prevent the smuggling of drugs to our country,’ he added.
However, India has already withdrawn some Phensidyl factories from border areas while discussions are on for the withdrawal of Yaba factories along the Myanmar border, he said.
Asaduzzaman said, ‘RAB has been playing a very important role in preventing drug smuggling throughout the country.’
