Narsingdi: The BNP chairman candidate in Gazaria Union Council election in Narsingdi on Monday announced to boycott the polls indicating various irregularities.

Lal Miah made the announcement at a press briefing in his residence at about 3:00pm, a day head of the first-phase UC elections in 721 unions scheduled for Tuesday.

The BNP candidate said he quit the race following ‘false’ cases filed against him, violence and looting unleashed by ruling Awami League leaders and activists and the absence of a congenial atmosphere for a free and fair election.
