Man shot dead in Jessore polls clash

Jessore: A man was shot to death in a clash between supporters of two chairman candidates in Chanchara union of Sadar upazila during the second phase union council polls on Thursday morning, reports UNB.
The Sadar police officer-in-charge Elias Hossain said supporters of AL-nominated and AL-rebel candidates locked in a clash at Bhaturia Government Primary School polling centre in Chanchra union at about 11:00am.
Both the groups chased each other and opened fire, leaving Golap Hossain dead on the spot and two others injured.
The injured were admitted to Jessore 250-bed General Hospital.
