Tangail: Three people died and three others received injuries in a collision between a truck and a three-wheeler auto-rickshaw at Rasulpur village of Gala union under Tangail sadar upazila on Friday, police and witnesses said.

Sergeant Jahangir Hossain of Kalihati Elenga Highway Police told BSS that the deceased were identified as Sadequl, 30, Shahor Ali, 25, and Jahor Ali, 35, while the injured were identified Ainal, 60, Yakub, 38, and Sanja, 25.

He said, ‘The incident of head-on-collision between a Bogra-bound loaded truck from Dhaka and Tangail-bound auto-rickshaw occurred at 6:15am in thearea, killing three on the spot.’

The injured were undergoing treatment at Tangail Medical College Hospital in critical condition, he added.

Police seized truck but none was arrested in this connection.

A case was filed with Kalihati Police Station.
