Chittagong: A young man was stabbed to death allegedly by his friend over a trifling matter near BSRM factory area in Sitakunda upazila on Thursday, reports UNB.

Iftekhar Hasan, officer-in-charge of Sitakunda Police Station, said Mohammad Shafik, 20, a worker of BSRM factory and son of Abul Kalam, hailing from Bandarban had an altercation with his friend Russel over a trifling matter on Thursday.

At one stage, Russel hit Shafik with a sharp weapon, leaving him critically injured.

Later, he was rushed to Chittagong Medical College (CMCH) Hospital where the doctors declared him dead, said Pankaj Barua, inspector at CMCH.
