Brahmanbaria: A union council member who was stabbed by some miscreants at Sendo village in Sadar upazila of Brahmanbaria on Saturday night died early on Sunday.

The deceased is Anwar Hossain Anu, member of Ramrail union council, reports UNB.

However, police held two men for their alleged involvement in this connection on Sunday morning.

Police said a gang of miscreants stabbed him when he was returning to his house at the village at about 10:00pm, leaving him critically injured.

Later he was rushed to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital where, upon seeing his condition deteriorating, doctors advised taking him to Dhaka.

While being taken to Dhaka, he died at about 1:30am. The body was kept at Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
