Sylhet: Detectives arrested three young men along with 1,582 pieces of Yaba tablet and 340 packs of heroin from Bejhbari village in South Surma upazila of Sylhet on Tuesday.

The arrestees are Sohag, Foyez, and Anwar Hossain, reports UNB.

The Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) officials said tipped off, a team of the Detective Branch (DB) of police, led jointly by its additional deputy commissioner Iqbal Hossain and assistant superintendent of police Rafiqul Islam, conducted a raid on the house of one Mukter Miah in the area and arrested the trio at about 2:00pm.

The law enforcers also recovered 1,582 pieces of Yaba tablet and 340 packets of heroin from their possession.

A case was filed in this connection.
