Teacher killed over land in Magura

Magura: A schoolteacher was hacked to death by his rival over a land-related dispute at Police Line Paschim Para in Sadar upazila of Magura early on Thursday.
The deceased is Ruhul Amin, reports UNB.
Quoting local people, the Sadar Police Officer-in-charge Azmaul Huda said there had been a longstanding dispute over the ownership of a piece of land between Ruhul and another person of the village.
A group of miscreants attacked Ruhul and chopped him indiscriminately when he was going to a local mosque for Fajr prayer early in the morning, leaving him dead on the spot.
Local people noticed the body of Ruhul lying beside the Magura-Jhenaidah highway in the area at about 8:00am and called police.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Magura Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Ruhul might have been killed over a land-related matter, added the OC.
A case was filed in this connection.
