Quake jolts southeastern districts
Dhaka: A mild earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale hit Chittagong, Feni and different parts of the country and India, Myanmar on Wednesday morning.
The earthquake was felt at about 8:00m across the south eastern part of country. There were no immediate reports of casualties.
The epicenter of the quake was 83km south east of Mawlaik in Myanmar and the tremors of 5.0magnitude on Richter scale were recorded in Myanmar at about 7:52am.
The quake struck at the depth of 110.1 km, according to United States Geological Survey.
However, another quake of a 4.7 magnitude tremors struck the Nicobar Island region at about 3:30am, reports IANS.
The depth of earthquake in Nicobar was 10km.
