Comilla: Two people including a union council chairman were killed as miscreants opened fire to a microbus at Titas upazila in Comilla on Tuesday morning.

Three people were also injured during the firing.

The Daudkandi police Officer-in-charge Farid Ahammed said Ziarkandi union council Chairman Moniruzzaman was going to attend a court in Comilla early on Tuesday. Miscreants opened fire to the microbus carrying Moniruzzaman when it neared Gouripur area of Daudkani on the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway at about 7:00am and left five of the passengers injured.

Two of the bullet-hit passengers died on the way to hospital, said Farid Ahammed.

The OC said the injured were taken to Gouripur Health Complex, but later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital as their condition deteriorated.
