Local administration imposed section 144 in Poiratala area of B’baria district town on Saturday as the two factions of Jatiya Party called meeting at the same venue and time.

The restriction will remain in force from 6:00am to 5:00pm.

Additional district magistrate M Samsul Haque made the announcement to avoid clash.

Sources said the followers of Ziaul Haque Mridha, MP called a meeting at a community centre in the area at 10:00am.

On the other hand, followers of Wahab-Shafiq called another meeting at the same venue and time.

Apprehending trouble, the local administration announced the restriction to maintain the law and order.
