Sylhet: A young man was hacked to death by a group of miscreants at Jindabazar in Sylhet on Saturday night.

The deceased is Misbah Uddin, in his twenties, a resident of Majumdari are of the city.

A group of miscreants hacked Misbah indiscriminately with sharp weapon at about 8:00pm, leaving him seriously injured, said officer-in-charge of Kotwali Model Police Station Shohel Ahmed, quoting witnesses.

Later, local people took Misbah to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital where duty doctors declared him dead.

Misbah might have been killed over previous enmity, the OC added.
