Bullet-hit bodies of three ‘abducted’ men found in Dinajpur
Dinajpur: Police recovered the bullet-hit bodies of three young men, who were reportedly abducted by unknown men on Saturday night, from a mango orchard at Raniganj Kalabari in Ghoraghat, Dinajpur on Monday morning.
The deceased were Sabbir, 25, son of Shonamia, Abdullah, 25, son of Lutfur Rahman and Sohel, 26, son of Kalu Mia, all hailing from Sadar upazila of Natore.
Ghoraghat Police Station Officer-in-charge Israfil Alam said locals spotted the bodies and then informed police. Later, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Dinajpur Police chief Hamidul Alam said some miscreants allegedly picked the three young men up in a microbus on Saturday and went to an unknown destination. A general diary was lodged with Natore Police Station in this connection, he said.
Police suspected that miscreants might have killed them over previous enmity, said the SP.
Meanwhile, the family members of the deceased confirmed the identities of the trio. Rukhsana Bewa, mother of Sabbir, said some people identifying themselves as Rab members picked his son up on December 3.
However, Natore District unit Jubo League at a press briefing claimed that the three young men were Jubo League activists. They also demanded exemplary punishment of those involved in the killing.
