Mahbubul Haque Shakil laid to eternal rest

Mymensingh: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s special assistant Mahbubul Hoque Shakil, who passed away on Tuesday, was laid to eternal rest in Mymensingh on Wednesday.
He was buried at Bhatikashar Municipal graveyard in the district town at about 7:00pm following his last namaz-e-janaza at Kachijhuli Anjumane Eidgah in Mymensingh town after Maghrib prayers, said officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station Kamrul Islam.
Earlier, Shakil’s the body was brought to his Baghmara residence in the town from Dhaka at about 2:3pm.
His first janaza was held at the central mosque of Dhaka University (DU) in the morning.
Shakil passed away at a Japanese restaurant in Dhaka’s Gulshan area on Tuesday at the age of 47.
He left behind wife, one daughter and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
Shakil, former vice-president of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was first appointed as PM’s deputy press sectary after AL came to power in 2009 and later appointed as PM’s special assistant (Media) and PM’s special assistant in 2014.
Born on 20 December, 1968 in Tangail, Shakil obtained honours and master’s degrees from the Sociology Department of Dhaka University.
He passed SSC from Mymensingh Zilla School and HSC from Ananda Mohan College in Mymensingh.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock at the demise of Shakil, said Ihsanul Karim.
