30 arrested after BCL infighting at CU

Chittagong: Police arrested 30 activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) following a clash between two factions of its Chittagong University unit on Friday afternoon.
Additional superintendent of police (special branch) Rezaul Masud said a team of police conducted a drive in two halls of the university - Shah Amanat and Shahjalal-- in the afternoon and arrested the BCL men.
The law enforcers also recovered huge sticks and sharp weapons from the halls.
Earlier, five BCL activists were injured in a clash between two groups-one led by BCL CU unit president Alamgir Tipu and another by its general secretary Fazle Rabbi-- on the campus on Thursday night.
