Munshiganj: The ferry service on the Shimulia-Kathalbari route resumed at about 9:00am after five hours suspension due to thick fog on the route.

Giasuddin Patwary, manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC), said the ferry movement was suspended from 4:00am due to poor visibility.

About 300 vehicles, including buses, trucks and cars, remained stranded at both ends of the important route, he added.

However, the ferry service resumed around 9:00am as fog started disappearing with the sunrise.
