5 men from Narsingdi ‘militant den’ surrender

Narsingdi: Five young men, who were staying at the suspected militant den at the Gabtali Uttarpara area of Narsingdi, surrendered before the law enforcers on Sunday morning.
Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) took five young man wearing bullet-proof jackets into their microbus at about 10:15am.
Earlier, RAB media wing Director Mufti Mahmud told journalists the men inside the suspected militant den would surrender before the law enforcers.
Members of law enforcement agencies started the anti-extremist operation around 9:00am on Sunday at a house at Gabtoli Uttarpara in Sadar upazila of Narsingdi which was cordoned off since on Saturday afternoon suspecting presence of militants there.

A team of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) headquarters and local police encircled the one-story building owned by Dubai expatriate Moin Ahmed around 4:30pm, said assistant police superintendent of RAB Atiur Rahman on Saturday.
A RAB team, led by commanding officer of RAB-11 Kamrul Hasan, will conduct operation in the den after Members of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police reaches the spot, he said.
Local people said three students rented the house last month.
