Moudud indicted in graft case
Dhaka: A Dhaka court on Wednesday framed charges against BNP leader Barrister Moudud Ahmed in a graft case filed by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
Dhaka 6th Special Judge Imrul Kayes passed the order, rejecting Moudud's plea to acquit him of the charges.
"The court also set July 26 to start recording the depositions of the witnesses in the case," a court official said.
ACC deputy director Shariful Haque Siddiqui filed the case against the BNP leader on September 16, 2007, for hiding information about his wealth worth Taka 4.40 crore and amassing illegal wealth of more than Taka seven crore.
ACC deputy director Sharifur Haque Siddiqui filed charge sheet in court in the case on May 14, 2008.
