Feni: A so-called robber was killed in a reported gunfight at Lemua in Feni in the early hours of Wednesday claimed Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).

RAB-7 CPC-1 commanding officer (CO) Squadron Leader Shafayat Jamil Fahim said being tipped of that a gang of robbers attacked vehicles on the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway in Lemua area under Feni police station, RAB officials went to the spot. Sensing the presence of law enforcers, the suspected robbers opened fire to them. RAB members also fired back, which left two of the alleged robbers injured. One of the injured died on the spot.

The injured was taken to Feni Sadar Hospital. RAB members also recovered two one-shooter guns from the spot.

The law enforcers did not confirm the deceased and injured man’s identities. However, the hospital authorities said the deceased is Faisal, in his thirties, and the injured person is Nur Hossain Selim.
